Business Writing (비지니스 영어 이메일의 기본 배우기/틀리기 쉬운 것들)

 

 

 

회사 공개강의로 영어 이메일 쓰는 법에 대해서 배웠다.

기대보다 훨씬 유익하고 도움이 많이 되는 강의였다!

안들었으면 후회할뻔 ^^*** 좋은 팁들을 많이 배운 시간이었다. 아래는 배운 것 정리 한 내용.

Dear Mr. Beattie,

(Mr. 또는 Ms.로만. 요즘은 Mrs. 쓰지 않음, 이름 뒤에 꼭 , 쓸 것, 이름이 아닌 '성(last name)'을 써야 함, 친한 사이는 이름, Hi/Good morning 등으로 시작하지 말 것)

 

Please find attached a proposed itinerary for your trip to California.

(itinerary가 맞는 표현. travel plan 등은 영어에 없는 표현, 첨부파일 내용은 메일의 맨 처음에 적을 것)

 

As you can see from the itineraary, you're visiting corporate headquarters in San Francisco for two dayw.

(during은 그 기간의 이름이 나올 때, for은 기간의 숫자가 나올 때 : 7 days = 7-day, during my 7-day bz trip)

 

I have arranged meetings th the data storage manager and the R&D team.

 

Unfortunately, the R&D manager, Mr. Woods, is out of town at that time and cannot attend the meetings.

(unfortunately 다음에 ,는 써도 안써도 무관, 양옆의 ,는 같은 사람이라는 의미,

 

He sends his apologies.

(꼭 복수형을 써주는 경우 : apologies, thanks, questions, concerns)

 

We would like to invite you to an informal dinner in the evening of March 7.

(informal dinner의 표현은 드레스코드가 없는 저녁식사, the evening 앞에 in, March 7 앞에 on을 쓸 수 있으나 반복을 피하기 위해 of)

 

Do you like Mexican food?

 

Please let me know if you have any dietary restirctions.

(please tell us도 가능. inform은 쓰지 말것. vegetarian이 아닌 dierary restrictions를 쓸 것)

 

On March 8, you're flying to Monterey for the Storage Systems Conference, and I will make flight and hotel reservations for you.

(,만 쓰지 말고 두 문장을 연결 할 때는 ,and 를 써야 함 ,and=;indeed,=;also,)

 

If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

(questions가 아닌 concerns을 쓸 것)

 

We look forward to seeing you nest week.

(looking forward to 는 speaking시 가능. 메일에는 항상 현재 시제 look으로만

(이름을 모를 때는 Faithfully, / Faithfully yours, 또한 Regards,나 Best regards 는 informal한 느낌의 표현이다.)
